Emily Harris-Greene has always wanted to be a writer. As a Third Culture Kid, books were her haven–a soft place to land when she needed to make sense of a confusing world. Her heroes were not just the brave and empowering characters she read, like Meg Murray and Lucy Pevensie, but the writers who wrote them.

 Emily has built a career as a copywriter, editor, and digital marketer. While she has a few unfinished novels in her closet, her writing career has focused more on helping others tell their stories to the world. She’s continued to dabble in writing and editing, taking online writing courses and joining accountability clubs. 

In September 2024, an idea started percolating in her mind, and unlike other story ideas Emily has had from time to time, this one refused to fizzle out. That same month, she was let go from her corporate marketing job and suddenly found a lot more time on her hands. 

With the planets seemingly aligned, Emily decided not to let the opportunity go to waste. She co-founded IndieHold (an author platform system designed specifically for indie authors), regularly hosts online writing sprints, and has participated in several online writing courses and accountability groups. Now, she’s writing a novel that she plans to self-publish (hopefully) in 2026.
